There’s Less Support In The Music Industry – DJay

Fast-rising star DJay has pronounced that the support in the music industry is very low, thus making it hard for artists to raise and stay up.

The ‘Amina’ singer made this known to Nana Ama Shancy on Spice FM’s OFIE ne fie entertainment show.

Asked about lessons learnt so far in the industry, he revealed how hard they had to push to get to greater heights.

“When you start doing music, nobody knows you, you are not their family or friends so how can they help you? They’ll only help when you give them a reason to and that reason should be how good your songs are.

Before you get people to like and support you, you need to work extra hard and that is not easy”, he revealed.

DJay later stressed that surviving in every industry is not easy, not just in Ghana. The fact that it’s not easy will make you break your back to earn a breakthrough.

“Surviving in every industry is hard, whether Ghana, Nigeria or wherever. You need to believe in yourself and work harder. I learn from everyone, I listen to music from every country because I want to grow and be unique.

I want to give people a reason to support me. By now my music is played in Takoradi even though I don’t know any DJs there, it doesn’t mean I’m special but I’ve given them a reason to be. Nigerians have given us a reason to play their songs here in Ghana”, He explained.
