NPP Communications Director Reassures Of Government’s Plans On Completing Cocoa Roads At Western North

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Communication Director for the Western North Region, Addo Harry has affirmed that work on the abandoned cocoa roads, which Cocobod left unfinished, will soon resume.

Addo Harry speaking to the media, the NPP administration has historically made tremendous advancements in road building, surpassing those made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during their 27 years in office.

The community, which has long awaited the conclusion of these vital infrastructure projects, is relieved by Addo Harry’s announcement.

According to him, the NPP had started 46 cocoa roads in the Western North region during the current administration, 16 of which had already been effectively finished.

He confirmed to residents that construction workers had resumed their work on the site and are committed to finishing all projects.

Meanwhile, CEO of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo speaking to journalists in Accra said:  “The current situation with the IMF is that they say yes now we can continue and complete what we have started but we should not start any more new cocoa road construction”

The Cocoa Road Programme was initiated by COCOBOD to resolve transport issues pertaining to the delivery of agro-inputs to cocoa farmers and to facilitate cocoa bean evacuation.

Mr Aidoo assured that cocoa road projects under construction across Ghana will be continued and completed, however, new cocoa road projects will not be initiated.
