Kennedy Agyapong reveals that his mother passed away due to threats against his own life
Kennedy Agyapong, a contender for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer position, has opened up about his mother’s passing. He attributes her death to threats he received from the brother of a fellow politician.
Agyapong, who presently serves as the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency, revealed that his mother struggled to cope with the insults and threats he encountered upon entering politics.
He shared that his mother had implored him multiple times to step away from politics, but he remained steadfast.
Agyapong lamented, “When Hon. Collins Dauda’s brother threatened to kill me, my mother couldn’t take it. She died on the 13th of November.”
He recounted visiting her shortly before her passing, where she beseeched him to withdraw from politics, expressing concerns for his effect on her health.
Agyapong’s grief over his mother’s loss remains palpable, yet he remains resolute in his commitment to champion his convictions. He affirmed his refusal to be daunted by the intimidation tactics employed against him. He vows to persist in addressing societal issues and advocating for the well-being of ordinary citizens.
