Sefwi Wiawso Education Directorate Gets Office Complex Renovated

A 12-thousand-dollar renovated office complex has been handed over to the Ghana Education Service at Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region.

The move is to harness the potential of education in a conducive and modern environment for teachers and administrators to carry out their duties effectively.

The facility which has seen a face-lift for the first time was renovated by the Asante Chirano Gold Mines Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the General Manager of Asante Chirano Gold Mine Ltd., Stephen Anti Yamoah, said harnessing the potential of education is key to transforming their resources and is key to the region and the country at large.

Mr. Yamoah was of the view that the sustainability of the mining industry hinges on the availability of a well-educated workforce.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Director of Education, Abraham Flecther on behalf of the Education Directorate thanked the mining company for their timely intervention.

According to him, the aim is to inculcate the habit of reading and writing in the lives of school-going children in the Municipality.
