Ghana Immigration Service suspends officers over fake recruitment
The Ghana Immigration Service has suspended 27 employees for allegedly committing a number of offenses, including conducting fake recruitment drives and visa fraud.
To make room for additional investigations, three senior officers and 24 junior officers have been asked to temporarily halt their duties.
According to the authorities, the immigration service has been tarnished by the employees’ behavior, and any officers found guilty after an investigation will face legal action.
None of the suspended staff members have addressed the accusations in the media.
The immigration service advised the public last year not to fall for fake social media recruitment accounts that were created to extort money from gullible people, indicating that it was not a part of their hiring practices.
