Attorney General to take over Cecilia Dapaah’s case
Godfred Yeboah Dame, the Attorney General, has given notice that his office will take over the prosecution of the case involving the money allegedly taken from the home of the Former Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Cecilia Dapaah.
The police prosecutor in charge of the case, DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye, informed the court of this.
The docket was sent last week by the police to the Attorney-General’s office for advice.
According to the Attorney-General’s office, the advice will determine whether the accused are guilty and whether the case’s victim, Cecilia Dapaah, needs to have her financial history further investigated.
DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye declared in court that the Attorney-General’s office will take over the prosecution even though the AG’s office has not yet made its recommendations public.
Two more people, however, have been detained in relation to the allegedly stolen funds.
The police prosecutor, DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye, disclosed this in court on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Her two housekeepers are accused of stealing Cecilia Dapaa’s $1 million, 300,000 Euros and other personal belongings worth thousands of Ghana Cedis and Dollars.
