Residents Of Sekondi -Takoradi Share Expectations For Mid-Year Budget

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta is expected to present the Mid-year Budget review in Parliament today, July 31, 2023.

The Finance Ministry stated that the presentation is by section 28 of the Public Financial Management ACT 2016, ACT 921.

There has been some back and forth on the exact day for the preservation, although July 25 was announced at the initial stages with Parliament also announcing a July 27th date.

It is settled and confirmed that the midyear budget will be presented today.

The budget is expected to shed light on fiscal plans for the rest of the year and implement measures to ensure economic stability and growth.

Meanwhile, Beach Newsroom encountered some members of the public to engage them on what they expect from the budget review today.

Ama, a young entrepreneur bemoaned the high prices of goods and services which is pushing them out of business, and called on the government to invest in local businesses.

“I am into buying and selling, things are very expensive. I can hardly buy to sell. I think that the government needs to reduce things. The government needs to invest in the local businesses”

Kobina said he looks forward to hearing the Finance Minister make provisions for the Market Circle project, completion of the PTC Interchange and making money available to complete the Kojokrom road.

According to him, anything short of this would mean the country is still in a mess.

Another resident said the Finance Minister should focus on industrialisation and tourism to boost revenue generation.
