EKMA Rakes In 14.9 Million As Revenue During First Half Of 2023
A total of 14,923,0604.20 was generated as revenue by the Effia- Kwesimtsim Municipal Assembly, EKMA as of June 30, 2023, the MCE of EKMA has said.
This was revealed by the Chief Executive of the Municipality during the 2nd ordinary Meeting of the 4th Session of the Assembly.
According to him, much is expected to receive a chunk of revenue in the third and fourth quarters of the year to either exceed or make up for their set target.
However, the total expenditure budget for the year was 45 million and 829 Thousand 1Hundred and 96 Hundred Ghana cedis. 28 pesewas ((GH₵45,829,196.28).
He added that” the Assembly’s actual expenditure was Nine Million 900 and 93Thousand 42 Ghana cedis 73 pesewas.”
He further said, “The Internally Generated Fund (IGF) collected during the period under review was One Million and Ninety-Seven Thousand and Forty-One Ghana Cedis, FiftyThree Ghana Pesewas (GH₵1,097,041.53).
This amount represents 24.80% of the collection rate of IGF revenue projection of Four Million Four Hundred and Twenty-Four Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty-One Ghana Cedis, FiftyNine Ghana Pesewas (GH₵4,424,381.59),”
Honourable Acquah highlighted some infrastructure improvements, whilst enumerating areas where such developmental works were undertaken within the Municipality.
“Construction of 1300m long 4.5m x 1.5m Storm Drain from Anaji Choice Mart to I-Adu,
Construction of 3 Cell 3m x 2.5m Box Culvert at Effia and 2 Cell 3m x 2.5m Box Culvert at Bankyease, and 150m long Storm Drain.
” Surfacing Dressing of Effia Town Roads (0.7km), Construction of 1 no. 3m x 2m
x 12m Long Double Culvert Approach Filling Works at SSNIT Down and Anaji SSNIT Flats Loop Road (0.70km). Construction of Two (2) Storey and Fifty-Seven (57) Unit Lockable Shops, as well as Four (4) Offices at Kwesimintsim, Paving of Kwesimintsim Lorry Station.” He added.
