After a disturbing video showing a violent assault on a student within Adisadel College’s premises went viral, the Headmaster has responded to the incident.

The video depicted one student forcefully hitting another student’s face against a metal bed, causing profuse bleeding below the victim’s right eye.

According to a statement from the Headmaster, conveyed through the Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the school, the assault occurred on June 30, but both the perpetrator and the victim initially concealed it from the authorities.

As a result of the incident, both the attacker and the victim have been sent home. The victim is expected to write his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from an external examination center provided by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

The student who filmed the distressing incident will face a one-week external suspension for his involvement.

The statement also mentioned that the housemaster and others allegedly involved will be suspended immediately, pending the outcome of the investigation by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The circulation of the assault video on social media has sparked widespread outrage and concerns among parents, students, and the public. There are growing demands for a thorough investigation into the incident and reassurances that such acts of violence will not be tolerated in the future, ensuring the safety and welfare of all students within the school community.
