Ghanaians responds to Cecilia Dapaah’s home being robbed of $1 million and €300,000 cash
Ghanaians on social media are expressing shock and astonishment over the news of two househelps allegedly stealing from the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah.
The thefts, which reportedly occurred between July and October of the previous year, took place at the Minister’s residence in Abelemkpe, where substantial amounts of money and personal belongings belonging to the Minister and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, were taken.
The accused househelps, Patience and Sarah, are facing charges that include one count of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of stealing US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghanaian cedis.
Additionally, three other individuals, identified as the father and current and former boyfriends of one of the househelps, have also been charged in connection with the thefts.
While sympathizing with the unfortunate incident that happened to the Minister, some Ghanaian netizens or social media users are expressing surprise and bewilderment at the idea of such large amounts of money being kept in her house.
One social media user tweeted, “Bro, if you have $1 million dollars in cash inside your house, then your bank accounts will be brazy. Ei!”
Another individual expressed their anticipation for the government’s response to this issue.
