Social media is buzzing with reports of the alleged arrest of Black Sherif, the VGMA Artiste of the Year and the hit-maker of “Kwaku the traveller,” upon his arrival at Kotoka International Airport on July 19, 2023.
The 21-year-old musician was supposedly taken to the police headquarters in Accra due to a contractual breach related to a show he was scheduled to perform in Greece on July 4.
According to the reports, Black Sherif was meant to perform on a cruise ship in Greece and charged a fee of US$40,000, of which he received half the amount.
However, he allegedly failed to honor the commitment. Consequently, a complaint was filed against him by the client, leading to his name being placed on the stop list and his subsequent arrest at the airport.
As of now, Black Sherif’s team has not yet confirmed the arrest, and Ghana Police Service officials are keeping mum about the matter.
