Manhunt for twin brothers who stabbed 17-year-old boy to death at drinking spot
Authorities are currently conducting a manhunt for twin brothers who are accused of fatally stabbing a 17-year-old boy at a popular drinking spot in Berekum, located in the Bono Region of Ghana.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 16, 2023. The victim, Alhassan Sulemana, was attacked and subsequently stabbed to death.
His body has been taken to the Berekum Holy Family Catholic Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy, according to the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
A source within the Berekum Divisional Police Command confirmed the incident but refrained from providing further details at this time.
The victim and the suspects, known only as Harus and Farouk, who authorities are currently conducting a manhunt for, were reported to be friends. They had attended a night party at the drinking spot where a disagreement broke out between them. Amidst the altercation, one of the suspects drew a pair of scissors and immediately stabbed the victim in the chest.
Hajia Safia Sulemana, the grief-stricken mother of the deceased, expressed her shock and anguish over the loss of her son. She appealed to the police to expedite their investigations into the incident.
Safia Sulemana also mentioned that her son and the suspects had been childhood friends, making the circumstances of the incident all the more perplexing.
