NABCo beneficiaries fume over delayed arrears
Concerns have been raised by aggrieved beneficiaries of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) regarding the prolonged delay in receiving their nine months’ arrears. Despite their numerous attempts to obtain payment from the government, they have been unsuccessful thus far.
David Petterson, the National Convenor of the Aggrieved NABCo Beneficiaries, highlighted the unbearable circumstances they are facing. He urgently called upon the government to fulfill its promises by promptly paying the owed nine months’ arrears, as it would enable them to regain stability in their lives.
Last December, these beneficiaries gave the government a one-week ultimatum to settle the arrears, but their demands remain unmet.
The spokesperson for the former NABCo trainees, Naa Techie, expressed her frustration over the delay in payment during an interview with Citi News.
She emphasized that NABCo trainees have been left in a state of uncertainty, enduring constant public ridicule, severe hardships, and even facing the threat of starvation.
In summary, the NABCo beneficiaries are distressed due to the extended delay in receiving their owed arrears, urging the government to promptly fulfill its commitments to alleviate their hardships.
