Fourth suspect in Ablekuma bullion van robbery arrested in Togo

Blessing Njoma, one of the suspects involved in the robbery of the Ablekuma Fan Milk bullion van, which resulted in the tragic death of a police escort, has been apprehended by the Aflao District Police Command.

This arrest was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Ghana Police Service and Togo Interpol. The Nigerian suspect was captured at Asigame market in Togo’s capital city, Lome.

With the arrest of this fourth suspect, a total of four individuals have now been taken into custody in relation to the Ablekuma Fan Milk bullion van robbery.

The robbery took place on June 14, 2023, during which Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah was fatally shot. The assailants attempted to seize the van’s contents but were intercepted by the police.

Lance Corporal Amoah, who tragically lost his life during the incident, was laid to rest on Saturday, July 15, 2023.

Meanwhile, the other suspects involved, namely Benjamin Ojogbe, Rashid Abdul, and an unidentified third individual, have been remanded in police custody by the Kaneshie District Court.

These accused individuals face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and the murder of Lance Corporal Callistus Amoah.
