Binduri Community Day SHS temporarily close down due to lack of food
In the Upper East Region, there has been a temporary closure of the Binduri Community Day Senior High School.
Since May 29, 2023, the school has been unable to provide meals for the students, leading to the closure.
On academic endeavors, attendance, and general school operation, this unfortunate circumstance has had a negative effect.
The student population, which was initially 600, has significantly decreased to around 200 during this time, according to school authorities.
On July 11, 2023, students abstained from class in an act of protest against the school’s leadership and the government.
John Soka Jaggery, the Binduri District Director of Education, addressed the students and suggested that they go home in response to their worries.
He gave them the reassurance that the caterer would be met with by the school administration to discuss the problem and work toward a potential reopening by Monday, July 17, 2023.
While concentrating on their upcoming mock exams, some final-year students are still on campus.
