Hajia4Real has been denied bail by a U.S. court, disrupting her intended return to Ghana in July
Ghanaian socialite and musician, Mona Faiz Montrage, widely known as Hajia4Real, is currently facing a series of charges in the United States. However, she has been denied bail, throwing her plans to return to Ghana by July into uncertainty.
Recent information shared by Kofi Adoma, host of KOFI TV, revealed that Hajia4Real did not meet the requirements for her bail request as determined by the U.S. Department of Justice.
This setback is a blow to her intentions of returning to Ghana with her daughter, as she had sought the court’s permission to relax her bail conditions and allow her restricted movement within certain areas while under house arrest.
According to court documents presented by United States Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York, Hajia4Real is accused of involvement in a $2 million romance scam, wire fraud, money laundering, and receipt of stolen money.
Damian Williams further stated that, based on the evidence gathered, Hajia4Real could potentially face a prison sentence ranging from four to seven years for her alleged involvement in the $2 million romance scam.
Shortly before this unfortunate news, Hajia4Real took to Instagram Live to update her fans and express her desire to return to Ghana soon. However, her legal situation has now cast a shadow over her plans.
The court documents released in New York on May 15 outline the charges against Hajia4Real, which include conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, money laundering, conspiracy to receive stolen money, and receipt of stolen money. Each charge carries significant potential prison time if she is found guilty.
As the legal proceedings continue, all eyes will be on the court to witness the presentation of evidence and the revelation of the truth behind the allegations against Hajia4Real.
For now, supporters and fans of Hajia4Real will have to wait for further updates on her legal proceedings and hope for a fair and just resolution to this challenging situation.
