Fire Service begin to probe into collapsed building at Kasoa

Kasoa

The Kasoa Municipal Fire Command has announced its intention to launch an investigation into the collapse of a health center that was under construction in the Assemblies community of the Ga South Municipality. The incident tragically resulted in the death of one person, while four others suffered severe leg fractures.

According to eyewitnesses, the structure collapsed shortly after the onset of rainfall. Concerns have been raised regarding the quality of materials used in the construction, leading some to speculate that this could have contributed to the collapse. DO3 Mercel Kwami Avadu, the Municipal Fire Commander in Kasoa, mentioned in an interview with Citi News that investigations will soon commence.

While the building gives the impression of being constructed with inferior materials, DO3 Mercel Kwami Avadu cautioned that this does not definitively indicate the use of substandard materials.

He emphasized the need for further investigations to determine the quality of the materials employed and assess whether the engineer responsible for the construction possesses the necessary qualifications and adhered to proper procedures.

These factors will be taken into account to ascertain whether the collapse resulted from poor workmanship or adherence to standards.

In summary, the Kasoa Municipal Fire Command plans to conduct an investigation into the collapsed health center to establish the cause. Suspicions regarding the use of inferior materials will be examined, and the qualifications and procedures followed by the engineer involved will be assessed to determine the root cause of the tragedy.
