Rotarian Aba-Yalley hands over as President of the Rotary Club of Takoradi-Anaji

President of the Takoradi-Anaji Rotary Club for 2022/23, Rotarian Angelina Aba-Yalley, has handed over the leadership baton to Rotarian Edwin Kofi Amanor to become the third President of the Rotary Club of Takoradi-Anaji for the 2023/24 rotary year.

Speaking at the End of Year and Handing Over Ceremony event which took place at the Raybow International Hotel on Sunday, July 2, 2023, the outgoing President, Rotarian Aba-Yalley expressed gratitude to her team for been able to achieve a lot under her leadership.

“I feel very proud and in high spirit for this joyful day. It’s been a very tiring but wonderful year. We’ve been able to tie 12 projects to our credit and overall we were able to win the Rotary International citation that identifies us globally, as achieving our objectives and goals set; additionally we won an award as the first Rotary Club in four countries to have paid our dues in the first month of the rotary year. I’m very proud to have led this team.”

He [current President] should have fun and provide service to humanity. I expect him to exceed what I was able to achieve as President, and I believe with the help of his team he will be able”, she added.

Further touching on what her future at the Rotary Club looks like, Rotarian Aba-Yalley said, “I’ve been appointed as the Club’s advisor for this Rotary year, so I’m still in active service. I haven’t retired from offering them my support and experience to club.”

She also thanked Focus 1 Media, owners of Beach 105.5 FM, Spice 91.9 FM (Sekondi-Takoradi), Pluzz 89.9 FM (Accra), Orange 107.9 FM (Kumasi) and Ofie 105.9 FM (Akim Oda) for the media support throughout her tenure as Club President.

The current President, Rotarian Edwin Kofi Amanor in an interview with Beach Newsroom after he was sworn into office said, “I feel good and excited because in Rotary our interest is supporting and assisting people who need help. It is an honor to lead such a wonderful club as its President.”

“Rotarian Angelina Aba-Yalley did a very marvelous job as President. The onus lies on me and my team to continue the good work she’s already started and follow through with other projects. We have one year to build monuments that will endue forever; not carved in granite and marbles but, in the lives and hearts of generations to come”, he stressed.

Rotary Club Sekondi-Takoradi and the Lions Club-Ghana were present at the event.
