Patrick Vieira has made a return to management after being sacked by Crystal Palace in March. He has signed a three-year contract with Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg. The club’s new owners, the current owners of Chelsea, recently acquired a majority stake in Strasbourg as part of a multi-club group approach.
Vieira has previous experience with such an approach, having worked at Manchester City as the U23s manager and at New York City FC, which is part of the City Football Group.
Vieira expressed his happiness in joining Strasbourg and praised the club’s history, identity, and the passion it generates among its supporters. He also commended the club’s recent rebuilding efforts under president Marc Keller.
Strasbourg finished 15th in the previous season under Frederic Antonetti, who mutually agreed to leave the club when the new ownership took over. Vieira is excited to embark on a new chapter with Strasbourg and aims to build something special while upholding the club’s core values.
