Koforidua: Man allegedly kills girlfriend; reports himself to the Police
After reportedly killing his girlfriend in Trom, a neighborhood of Koforidua in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region, a young guy is currently in police custody.
According to the deceased young lady’s co-tenants, the incident happened on Saturday when the lady went outside to meet the young man who then followed her inside the compound.
She was a native of Suhum and a former student of Koforidua Ghanass, according to the young woman’s co-tenants.
She was a bartender at a well-known bar in the neighborhood. When she chose to quit their relationship, the young man threatened to kill her, so she moved from Koforidua Betom to Trom Junction 5 approximately a year ago.
It is unclear what led to the young man’s decision to murder his girlfriend.
However, according to accounts, he bound her lips, put bits of fabric in her mouth, sliced her throat, and then released her. Because a naming ceremony was going on in the property at the time of the crime, the young lady’s neighbors were not aware of her struggle.
The young man allegedly carried out the claimed murder, climbed the wall, dropped his weapon, and later that evening, he turned himself in to the police.
On Sunday, the suspect and the police went to the spot to take inventory as part of their investigation.
However, they were forced to act fast to whisk away the suspect when they sensed that the enraged crowd was preparing to attack him.
The body of the young lady, who is believed to be in her early 20s, has since been deposited at the Eastern Regional Hospital morgue.
