Western Music Awards

Westline Entertainment, the organizers of the esteemed Western Music Awards, have revealed the complete list of nominations for this year’s edition.

During a nominee announcement broadcast on Westline TV’s YouTube channel, Nana Kwesi Coomson, the Head of Public Relations for the Western Music Awards, introduced the exciting developments for this year’s event.

Coomson announced that there would be a total of 30 categories, with a significant addition being the introduction of the “Unsung” category, which focuses on showcasing the musical talents of senior high school students. The purpose of this category is to identify and support young talents early on, ensuring a smooth transition into the music industry after completing their education.

To select representatives for the “Unsung category,” Entertainment Masters from selected senior high schools in the Western Region were brought on board. These Entertainment Masters were tasked with nominating the best talents from their respective schools. By involving the schools’ Entertainment Masters, the Western Music Awards aims to provide early support and exposure to these budding talents, introducing them to the market and the wider audience.

The participating schools in this year’s “Unsung category” for the 7th edition of the Western Music Awards include St. Johns School, represented by Oliver Nimo; Adiembra Senior High School, represented by Christabel; Bompeh Senior High Technical School, represented by Heridity; Takoradi Technical Institute, represented by Omar x; and Ahantaman Girls Senior High School, represented by Ohema.
