Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft have decided to include ChatGPT in Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the United States.
The “generative artificial intelligence” program ChatGPT from Microsoft can converse in a manner that is remarkably human.
The phrase “Hey, Mercedes,” followed by a brief command, can already be used by drivers of Mercedes vehicles to make phone calls, find a location on the navigation system, or adjust the temperature in the car.
According to Microsoft, ChatGPT would make these voice commands more fluid and natural and could open up new functionality.
The system could converse more naturally than just responding to straightforward commands. The system will have the capacity to retain the context of discussions and have back-and-forth conversations with the driver or other passengers of the vehicle.
The system will be able to respond to a wider range of inquiries thanks to ChatGPT, including those that might not be about the vehicle or the driver.
According to Microsoft (MSFT), the ChatGPT system can work with other programs to handle tasks like reserving a table at a restaurant or buying movie tickets.
Using the voice command “Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program,” MBUX-equipped Mercedes owners in the US will be able to beta test the ChatGPT system beginning on June 16. ”
On the Internet, ChatGPT has been employed to perform tasks like conducting research for essays, choosing stocks, and, occasionally, responding ineffectively to those who are experiencing a crisis.
The voice command systems that automakers like Mercedes have developed for their vehicles over the past decade or so years have gotten increasingly sophisticated.
