A Superintendent Pharmacist at AbigiPharma Ltd., Dan Walden has advised the general public to seek medication from the right source and the right personnel.
Medication, according to Mr Walden, is generally an agent administered to the body with the primary aim of treating, preventing, or diagnosing any health condition.
Mr Walden contends that it is ill-advised to self-medicate as medications are deemed quite dangerous, hence the importance of consulting a health professional before taking a drug.
In an interview with Yao Mawutor Fianu on the Mid Morning Lounge on Beach FM, Mr Walden asserted that medication, just like any other product, comes with a manual, which must strictly be adhered to.
He said, “Every little instruction that comes with medication is very critical so for instance, if you’re instructed to eat or not to eat before taking a drug, it strikes you as best not to overlook the instruction, to give you the efficacy you need.”
According to Mr. Walden, medications go through levels of scrutiny therefore any side effects that come with it mean are within manageable prospects.
He further stated that statistics have shown that misuse of medication kills more than diseases hence the need to strictly follow instructions that come with medications.
