Kamaldeen, Nuamah lead Ghana’s provisional squad for U-23 AFCON
Ghana U-23 head coach Ibrahim Tanko has named a provisional 29-man squad for camping ahead of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco.
Despite initially initing 22 local-based players who had been camping at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence for the AFCON tournament, seven of those players have been dropped with 14 foreign-based players added as the team continues preparations.
Felix Afena-Gyan is not in the squad after initially turning down an invitation for the previous assignment in the qualifiers.
In addition to the aforementioned players, there are several other talented Black Stars players who secured their spots in the squad. One notable inclusion is Ranford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, a skillful winger currently playing for Hamburger SV. Konigsdorffer earned his place in the squad as a replacement for the injured Inaki Williams, showcasing his versatility and potential impact on the team.

The Black Meteors leave Accra on Monday, June 12, 2023, for Cairo, where they will camp for two weeks playing some preparatory matches before the competition.
