During an operation at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region, two suspected criminals attacked two police officers and fled while wearing handcuffs, injuring them.
A group of police officers from the intelligence section had been sent to Kasoa to catch suspected robbers who had purportedly fled to Gomoa Nyanyano after robbing locals there.
Two of the officers were hurt when the young locals unexpectedly attacked them when they arrived at the scene.
The surviving cops immediately requested reinforcement from the Central East Regional Police Command after realizing they needed more assistance.
Despite the difficulties, the team was able to capture eight individuals from the ghetto, while the two managed to escape with the police handcuffs.
Immediately after being hurt, the police officers were sent to a local hospital for emergency care.
