50 church members injured after accident involving 4 cars on Accra-Kasoa road

Following a collision involving four cars, some 50 church members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church have suffered varied degrees of injuries.

On Sunday, the incident took place near the Menskrom Weija Junction on the Accra-Kasoa route.

The four vehicles include a police officer’s Toyota Vitz, a KIA Rio taxi, an old Benz, and a bus that carried members of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church.

According to eyewitnesses, the police officer who was traveling from the Kasoa tollbooth to Accra performed a bad overtake and crossed the bus as a result, which caused the accident.

The church bus and two other vehicles parked along the shoulders of the road were hit by the police officer’s car as it approached the Weija junction traffic light.

Several of the witnesses blamed the police officer in the Toyota Vitz for the collision in an interview with the media.

According to an eyewitness, two of the church members are believed to be dead and numerous others have critical injuries.

There were 50 or so people on the bus, including kids. A taxi driver, whose vehicle was damaged, likewise, attributed the cause of the collision to the policeman.

To guarantee the smooth flow of traffic, members of the Ghana Fire Service and the police team were there.
