James Gyakye Quayson is the “second Jesus Christ” of the Assin North Constituency, according to Apaah Martin, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) deputy communications officer for the area.
He believes that Mr Quayson will win the upcoming by-election convincingly because of all that he has done for the constituents.
Martin claimed on Accra-based Citi FM that Assin North voters already know who they will support thus the recent road development in Assin Bereku will not affect their choice.
“Now that it is getting to the by-election, they have started the construction of the road. It is not a bad thing, but we are telling them whether they construct the road or not, the people of Assin North have decided already”, Martin said.
He also questioned whether the construction would be continued after the by-election.
Martin said that Gyakye Quayson defeated his opponent, who received 14,000 votes, by garnering over 17,000 votes in the general election of 2020. He added that the NDC has set an agenda of securing 29,000 votes for Quayson in the by-election because he has done a lot for the people of Assin North.
