About 150 land guards open fire on farmers at Gomoa Okyereko, grading their lands to sell
According to reports, around 150 land guards have entered certain areas of Gomoa Okyereko, firing live ammunition, pursuing farmers with firearms, and grading their land with the intention of selling it.
Over 2,000 people live in the farming community of Gomoa Okyereko, which is located in the Central Region’s Gomoa East District.
The locals have accused several politicians and opinion leaders from Effutu of sending these land guards and attempting to seize their lands by force without obtaining a court order.
Residents have complained to the Dominase District Police Command, the Central East Regional Police Command, and DCE Solomon Darko Quarm, they tell Adom News, but nothing has been done since the grading began.
The locals have voiced their unhappiness and urged the IGP and authorities to take action, saying that they would mobilize and fight if their efforts to stop the act were ineffective.
According to Nana Kofi Donkor, the chief of Gomoa Okyereko, these land guardians have graded all of the 200 acres of land’s crops.
The fact that this administration has laws in place but some Winneba politicians are terrorizing people with the use of land guards, according to Nana Donkor, is terrible.
