I nearly quit acting – Fella Makafui speaks on the difficulty of balancing her career with family and business
Fella Makafui, a 27-year-old Ghanaian actress known for her roles in various popular movies, including the YOLO TV series, recently shared that she contemplated quitting acting three years ago. The reason behind her consideration was the challenge of finding a balance between her career, family, business, and other responsibilities

Fella Makafui revealed that the demanding hours required on set made it difficult for her to dedicate enough time to her business, prompting her to consider prioritizing it over her acting career.
“I think that it is one of the most difficult aspect of this job, at a point like 3 years ago, I almost gave up on acting because I couldn’t balance it,” she revealed
Fella Makafui, the versatile actress who is also known for her roles as a serial entrepreneur and brand influencer, shared that her various ventures were yielding significant profits. As a result, she felt tempted to permanently step away from acting in order to focus solely on her other successful enterprises.
“For the fact that I have to be on set, close as late as 11, 12, I’m like nah I don’t think this will really work and I was so much into my business because it was really picking up and making money so I was like okay if this one is giving me money let me focus on this one,” she said.

Despite contemplating quitting acting, Fella Makafui’s husband, Medikal, played a significant role in convincing her to give it another chance. The award-winning actress acknowledged that her husband’s support and understanding were crucial in her decision to continue pursuing her acting career.
She highlighted that they have a team of people assisting them with household tasks, such as a chef and a cleaner, which has helped them manage their busy lives. Since returning to acting, Makafui expressed that things have been going well for her, although she continues to learn how to balance her acting career with her business endeavors.
Currently, Fella Makafui is engaged in a media tour to promote her self-produced project, which is set to premiere on May 26th, 2023, at the Silverbird Cinemas.
