The Chief Executive Officer for MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh has called for a collaborative effort between stakeholders and industry players to generate strategic ways of curbing the issue of momo fraud. According to him, the issue of fraud must be treated as a national issue to help bring sanity into the system.
He added that MTN Ghana is putting in lots of measures to curtail the menace.
Mr Adadevoh speaking at this year’s Media and Stakeholders Forum in Takoradi organized for media personnel in the Western and Central Regions.
It was on the theme, Leveraging Technology to Serve Customers With Excellence.
Mr Adadevoh noted that it is MTN’s strategic intent to lead digital solutions for Africa’s progress, adding that, it is their aim to be everywhere in order to serve the people with better experiences and lead the delivery of a bold new digital world.
He again mentioned that they are building a resilient network to improve customer experience, from being a Telco to a platform player by the end of 2025. He said they are on course with a one billion US Dollars network investment by 2025 to maintain network leadership.
Mr Adadevoh stated that, in 2022, four billion Ghana cedis was generated by the company as part of the Government’s revenue, adding that, 159 social projects have been completed across the country by MTN.
Touching on challenges confronting MTN, he mentioned fibre cuts, saying, the situation is bad in the Western Region as a result of galamsey activities.
Mr Adadevoh further says operation 2025 which was initiated after Covid-19 has not been easy, although 650 million US Dollars have already been invested into the programme.
He said a lot of progress has been made and the company is satisfied with the breakthrough.
The Western Regional GJA Chairman, Desmond Cudjoe says the core mandate of a Journalist is to inform and educate and as such called on the journalists to put the knowledge they have acquired to good use by educating and informing the populace to create awareness among them.
