US Government Donates Antiviral Medications To The Health Ministry

The US government, on Thursday, May 18, 20233, donated some antivirals to the Ministry of Health (MOH) for the purpose of treating COVID-19 sickness.

Dr Baffour Awuah, the Acting Director of the Technical Coordination Directorate at the Ministry, on behalf of the Minister for Health, Mr Kwaku Agyemang Manu, received the donation and applauded the US Government and the USAID for their unwavering support to Ghana in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also expressed his gratitude to USAID and the US government for their significant contributions to Ghana’s ongoing health progress.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the US Government has donated approximately 12 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines and antivirals to the Government of Ghana. Madam Heather Robinson, Team Lead for Infectious Diseases, USAID Ghana, who made the donation on behalf of the US Government, praised all partners of USAID, especially JICA, for their unwavering support on COVID-19-related issues.

Additional Ministry Directors and a few USAID, Ghana team members were present at the meeting.
