The Energy Commission has stated that the Electrical Wiring Cables And Accessories Regulation which is currently before Parliament awaiting approval will help bridge the market of sub-standard electrical wiring cables and accessories.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Ing. Oscar Amonoo -Neizer said the electricity industry is rapidly evolving and electricians must stay informed of the latest development and trends to remain competitive and provide the best possible services to customers.
He also touched on smart homes and electric vehicles and the role of electrical engineers.
Ing. Amonoo Neizer mentioned the increasing adoption of renewable energy systems such as solar panels and drain turbines in the electrical industry.
“As contractors engaged in wiring, you should have the expertise, and experience to design and install these systems by leveraging your skills, and experience in this area you can play a vital role in promoting the transition to renewable energy and helping Ghana to achieve its energy goals.
Smart homes and electric vehicles are two additional trending areas that have significantly impacted the electrical industry. With the increasing adoption of smart home technology, homeowners are now able to control various aspects of their homes, including lighting and security systems,” He stated.
