The International Fertilizer Development Center, an international public organisation has assured the government of its commitment to supporting the promotion of agriculture.
It said it has resolved to work with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and other stakeholders to continue disseminating sustainable agriculture solutions to improve soil health, ensure food security and increase the income of actors, especially farmers.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of IFDC, Henk Van Duijin gave the assurance when he led a delegation to pay a working visit to the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Brian Acheampong.
The visit forms part of activities to introduce Mr Duijn who took over the office in January 2023 to strengthen existing relations, build a new strategic partnership, and discuss issues of mutual interest relating to ensuring food security.
Mr Duijn said IFDC’s goal was to transfer improved production technologies to smallholder farmers and connect them to efficient and profitable markets.
Mr Acheampong acknowledged IFDC’s immense contribution to Ghana’s agriculture sector and promised to continue to work towards making agriculture productive and responsive to the needs of the country.
