The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Essikado -Ketan, Dr Kobby Spio-Garbrah has pointed out that the court injunction placed on the party’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections may affect the election process as well as halt the party’s progress.
Dr Spio Garbrah is of the belief that the actions of Dr Kwabena Duffour are not making the party members happy at a moment when the elections are a few days away.
He described Dr Duffour’s concerns about the faults in the photo albums as esoteric, adding that the injunction is an attempt to truncate the election process.
Dr Spio Garbrah did not dispute that there could be some shortcomings on the part of the party in compiling the photo album and that Dr Duffour should give his intentions a second thought before placing an injunction on the elections.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Offie on Spice 91.9 FM, Adzekyee Mu Nsem, Mr Garbrah recounted the loss the party could face should the elections be postponed.
” We should think about the totality of the organisation. We are in preparations towards the elections, so should it be postponed the party would then have to print new ballot papers and book new venues and delegates would as well change their plans all because of the injunction,” He said.
I’m not saying the writ has no merit, but I mean it obviously has some merit but in the balance of equities, between getting your pound of flesh, and bankrupting the party or allowing the process to go forward with some changes made to accommodate the problem. We can’t be put on hold as a party because of an individual. I don’t even know whether to continue my campaign or not, and that is the fate of every other party member. We are not happy, ” He added.
He charged the party employs new strategies to win elections to represent the people in the Sekondi- Takoradi as the party has been in opposition for 20 years.
Dr Spio Garbrah emphasized job creation as one of his visions to be implemented to ensure the economic independence of his constituents.
