Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor has said his office would continue to protect public lands for future development.
He made this statement during the commissioning of a new police barracks at Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region.
The first phase of the project includes a 322-bedroom unit which will curb the accommodation challenges of the Police force.
Other facilities of the barracks include a school, clinic, sporting facilities, and amongst others.
According to the Minister, land continues to be the number one factor for development as our socioeconomic development is interconnected with the utilization of our land resources.
“Land continues to be the number one factor for development. Our socioeconomic development is therefore intricately intertwined with how we administer, manage and utilize our land resources, that is why under the distinguished and able leadership of President Akuffo Addo, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources continues to adopt policies and programs to promote efficient and effective land administration including digitisation and digitalisation of the records of the Lands Commission, improving land service delivery, promoting land tenure and protecting public lands.
We will continue to work with all stakeholders to deliver a robust and functional land administration that is anchored on transparency and integrity, ” Mr. Jinapor stated.
