ECG Recoups 1.7 Million Cedis From Takoradi Port

The revenue mobilization exercise by the Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG is steadily progressing as customers of the power distribution company settle a debt owed to the Company.

Last week, the ECG in a statement announced that it will embark on a revenue mobilization exercise from March 20 to April 20, 2023, to recoup all debts owed by all categories of customers, including state-owned enterprises, and SOEs.

The Western Regional Public Relations Officer of ECG, Benjamin Quarcooe reveals that the Takoradi Harbour owed the ECG 1.7 million cedis but quickly mobilized funds to settle the debt.

He said, ” The Takoradi Port of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, they owe us to the tune of 1.7 million Ghana cedis in arrears up to three months of power used, luckily they were able to settle their bills and we didn’t have to disconnect them.”

Customers are advised not to hold on to payments but ensure to pay their debt to avoid disconnection.
