Include Vocational And Entrepreneurial Training Into Curriculum – Government Urged

The Executive Director of David Douglas Leadership Forum, DDLF, David Douglas Tengey has entreated the Ghana Education Service, GES to incorporate Entrepreneurship and Vocational training into the curriculum right from the Basic to the Tertiary level to shift the career path of young people.

The Forum is mainly to educate Senior High School Students on entrepreneurship and leadership.

According to him, young people can only survive in these contemporary times if they receive entrepreneurial and vocational skills.

” Entrepreneurship is therefore the surest way to go if young people are to survive the challenges of these contemporary times. Where we are finding ourselves now, entrepreneurship does not only help one to develop himself or herself but creates the avenue for others to also be employed.

With about 70 per cent of Ghana’s economy being in the informal sector where major of businesses found within these spaces are small and medium-scale enterprises, there is a need to train young people right from the tertiary and Senior High School level to be innovative and ready to face the challenges,” He said.
