Residents of the Western Region are assured of the availability of vaccines at all health posts
This is according to the Western Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Nana Ofori Yeboah.
He urged all nursing mothers to visit health centers for the vaccine.
The Ministry of Health has since distributed vaccines to health centres after health centres in parts of the country experienced a shortage of vaccines.
He remarked that currently there is no childhood vaccine shortage in the region.
“Currently, we do not have any outbreak but we have received our vaccines. We took off them on Saturday at 11 pm and as I speak, we’ve made distributions to all the various districts have some. so in Western Region, the vaccine shortage is no longer an issue.”
Dr Nana Ofori Yeboah added that not all health centres in the region run out of vaccines.
He, however, indicated that major shortages were recorded in highly populous areas such as EKMA, Sekondi-Takoradi, Tarkwa and a few other places.
