Engage Government On The Payment Of Your Coupons -Individual Bondholders Urged
The government’s spokesperson on Security and Governance, Palgrave Boakye Danquah has advised individual bondholders not to picket since the government has assured them of honoring their coupons when it is due.
He urged individual bondholders to continue further engagement with the government as its doors would always be open to them.
He made this comment on the back of the individual bondholders threatening to picket the Black Star Square seeking to put pressure on the government to pay them their matured bonds.
In an interview with the media, he said, ” We have been reliably informed that the individual bondholders are staging to picket on Monday at the Black Star Line. People have their individual preferences to picket government, on the other hand, would be hoping to meet anybody willing to hold a conversations.”
The Individual Bondholders Forum has hinted at picketing the Black Star Square until their demands for exemption from the government’s Domestic Debt Exchange Program are granted
