THE PUBLISHING FEES WE GOT FROM SUGARCANE IS BIGGER THAN THE AMOUNT WE INVESTED
The manager of Ghanaian musician Camidoh, George Britton, has made a startling admission about the returns on the Ghc 975,000 they spent in promoting his hit single “sugarcane”.
The artiste management previously stated the staggering amount of money they spent on the song “sugarcane,” which is Ghc975,000. Many Ghanaians, including artists, were interested in this because it is typically difficult to acquire such a sum of money in this day and age, especially if you are not signed to a record label.
On Spice Fm’s Saturday entertainment talk show Pempina with Nana Ama Shancy, George Britton claimed that music is a business and that you must invest a lot of money into it in order to succeed at it.
He also casually mentioned the amount of money they had earned from the entire investment. “You see, music is a great industry that requires significant investment, and you need individuals who are familiar with the industry to know that. Indeed, we paid GHC 975,000 to produce professional videos and to market the music.
Would you think, though, that the revenue we generate from publishing outweighs the capital we first invested? He probed. George Britton claims that while music is expensive, it is also tremendously profitable.
