MTN Organise Blood Donation To Support Blood Banks In Hospitals
Telecommunication Company MTN- Ghana has partnered with the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Holy Child Health Center to organise a blood donation exercise on the campuses of Takoradi Technical Institute.
The exercise was organised to furnish the blood banks of the hospitals to solve the issue of shortage of blood in the various health centers.
Mr. Kennedy Kofi Fosuhene speaking on behalf of the Senior Manager of the South-West Business District, Mr. Prince Owusu Nyarko mentioned that the blood donation exercise was carried out across the 16 regions of the country.
According to him, donating a pint of blood can go a long way to save people who may be in need when they visit the hospital.
He recalled that the exercise has been in existence since 2011 when the emergence of Covid-19 disrupted their activities. He again noted that the company had to hit the grounds again to support hospitals with the blood donation exercise.
Some students who took part in the donation told Beach Newsroom the reason they joined the exercise.
