Executive Director of Africa for Retirement Research, Abdallah Mashud says, government must evaluate and appreciate the concerns of pensioners on the Debt Exchange Restructuring program as Pensioner Bondholder Forum has been picketing at the Ministry of Finance for some days.
Commenting on the Debt Exchange Program, Mr. Mashud expressed dismay that all other pensioners have left the Pensioner Bondholder Forum to fight for their exclusion.
He described government’s result to continue the program as insensitive.
He,, therefore called on civil society organisation to speak up for these groups who are suffering because their retirement benefits are insufficient for a good standard of living.
