The Management and Staff of Focus 1 Group celebrated Valentine’s Day with inmates of Sekondi Prisons.
As a month to celebrate love, food packs, cartons of soap, boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste, cartons of soft drinks, and chocolates were donated to the inmates.
In addition, a cheque of Eight Thousand Ghana Cedis was presented as support for the construction of a lab for their infirmary.
This edition marks the thirteenth of donating to the inmates.
Madam Evelyn Adu-Mante, the wife of the CEO of Focus 1 Group, explained the rationale behind the donation.
According to her, the donation is done out of love for the inmates, who for some reason find themselves in some circumstances.
” I think it’s all about love. That has been my husband’s focus. He is someone who loves to give so, that is what has accounted for this. We’ve taken this day to come and down with the inmates.
In the society, it’s like they are rejected but we have taken it upon ourselves, Focus 1 Group which Beach and Spice are part of it. ” She mentioned.
The donation, she revealed also that the exercise forms part of Spice FM’s chalking a decade in the media fraternity.
She said, ” Fortunately its Spice FM’s 10th Anniversary today, so we came to make merry”
Madam Adu-Mantse urged everyone to offer their support in such a gesture, adding that showing love to the inmates can help in diverse ways.
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, the Deputy Director of Prisons, Abraham Allotey was grateful for the gesture and called on other members of the public to emulate as the inmates also need to be shown some love.
