Send Ghana, a civil society has appealed to the Auditor General to surcharge and prosecute all persons and entities found culpable in the misappropriation of Covid-19 funds.
A statement issued by the Deputy Director of Send Ghana, Dr. Emmanuel Ayifa expressed disappointment that so much money was misappropriated from the Fund that were set aside for the pandemic, and called for ‘heads to roll’.
The statement observed with keen interest from multiple reports suggesting that a substantial part of the COVID-19 Funds have been grossly misapplied and channeled to fund other government interventions and flagship programs .
It also commended the Auditor General for heeding to Send Ghana’s earlier call on the state and Parliament to ensure that there is value for money in the disbursement of the COVID-19 Funds.
