A young man believed to be in his early 20s has met his untimely death at the GPRTU Accra-Takoradi bus terminal at Kaneshie, Accra.
An eyewitness who also was a passenger on the same bus with registration AC – 2002 – 19, narrated the incident to Spice 91.9 FM and said the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, when the young man had a seizure attack at around 2 pm.
The attention of the station management was drawn to the incident after it was realized that the situation was getting out of hand.
She added that the young man upon a little investigation revealed that he was traveling to Tarkwa from Kanshie.
She continued that, a passenger who is believed to be a nurse, was onboard and attended to the victim and thereafter insisted that the young man be sent to the hospital but nothing was done about it.
She indicated that the station leadership showed no action in sending the man for medical attention even though the situation was becoming dire. According to her, the station official wasn’t ready to bear the hospital cost of the young man.
The young man was rather left in the care of authorities at the bus terminal whilst the bus took off to Takoradi.
According to the eyewitness halfway through the journey, they received a phone call informing them of the demise of the young man.
In his reaction to the incident station master, JK Ansah confirmed the incident. In his explanation, he says, the young ma was rushed to a nearby clinic after getting in touch with a relative.
He further added that the man died whilst on their way to the clinic.
