Don’t Trust Any Minister Who Resigns to Run for President — Lydia Forson
Multiple award-winning actress Lydia Forson has warned Ghanaians not to rely on any minister who quits their position to run for President.
As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for the election of its flagbearer ahead of the 2024 general elections, the men are gradually being separated from the boys.
On January 5, 2023, The Minister of Trade and Industry, John Alan Kyerematen resigned from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addos government.
It is, however, unclear why he resigned after serving at the Trade Ministry since 2017, and it is believed that he took the decision to enable him properly focus on his presidential ambition.
The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto officially resigned on January 10, 2023.
According to sources he resigned to focus on his Presidential ambition as he wants to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 general elections.
Due of this, well-known Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has warned Ghanaians to be wary of people who have quit their jobs as ministers in order to run for president.
They shouldn’t be trusted, the actress said, because they recognized wrongdoing and wished to rectify it.
She Wrote:
DO NOT trust any presidential candidate who ONLY resigned to run for president and not because they saw wrongdoing and wanted to do the right thing.
