Pokuase To Ofankor Accra-Kumasi Dualization Project To Be Completed In March 2023

The Pokuase to Ofankor section of the Accra-Kumasi Dualization Project should be finished by March 31st, barring any unforeseen problems.

During an inspection visit of ongoing projects in several districts of Accra, the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, remarked this.

The government, he said, places a great deal of attention on the length, which includes four interchanges, as it is a crucial component of its extensive network of roads. Mr. Amoako-Atta pleaded with the contractor to handle compensation issues uniformly.

Roads Minister Kwasi Amoako-Atta visited the La Beach Road, the Flower Port Flyover on the Spintex Road, and the Accra-Kumasi dualization projects. Additionally, he observed the improvement work being done on the 15.4 km Ofankor-Nsawam road, which is being expanded to 10 lanes and will feature interchanges at Amasaman, Pobiman, Medie, and Nsawam.

About 400 structures on the Ofankor-Nsawam road will be affected, and a number of them have already been pulled down. Work on the road is progressing steadily. While expressing satisfaction at the progress made so far.

Mr. Amoako-Atta advised the project’s contractors, Maripoma Group, to effectively handle the difficulties posed by the construction. He had faith that the contractor will complete the project before the deadline of June 2023.

Thomas David Arthur, the resident engineer, stated that 30% of the work had been completed. According to him, the project will be carried out without incident if the few issues with utilities and legal proceedings are resolved.
