Mavis Hawa Koomson Appointed Caretaker Minister Of Food and Agriculture

Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, has been named by President Akufo-Addo to serve as a caretaker Minister at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

Up till a suitable replacement is found, Madam Koomson, who is also a member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, will hold that role.

After Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto submitted his resignation on January 10, President Akufo-Addo accepted it.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto is the second government official to leave in order to pursue their political aspirations, following Alan Kyeremateng, who served as the Minister of Trade and Industry.

President Akufo-Addo thanked Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto for his contributions to the administration and the country in a statement that was published and signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency.
