In the US city of Colorado, thieves broke the locks on a locked truck and stole five Paintings worth millions of dollars.
The truck was left parked in a hotel’s parking lot. The five paintings that were taken are estimated to be worth $400,000 total. The report of the painting being stolen has been lodged by the truck driver at the police station.
The police came upon several photographs of the painting during the initial investigation. Afterwards, it was discovered that the alleged 20th-century painting that had been taken belonged to the Taos Society of Artists.
Mexico is home to those who make up the Taos Society of Artists. In the artwork, the now-extinct Western American way of life is depicted.
The transport company’s employee allegedly spent the night at a hotel. The truck’s lock had been broken when he awoke the following morning.
The vehicle had had some tools stolen, but five paintings were also taken. “View of the Taos Pueblo” by Joseph Henry Sharp, “Laguna Pueblo” by Ernest Martin Hennings, and the Madrid series by Elaine de Kooning Was, were among the paintings that were taken.
The paintings “Burnett’s Barn,” which was produced with the help of Jan Freliker, and “Taos Pueblo at Night” by Anger Irving Cuse were also taken.
Despite this, the police officers wouldn’t specify where the painting was heading. The police are also requesting that the general public submit any information related to the theft.
