Residents In The Metropolis Poised To Celebrate Christmas Despite Economic Difficulties
Christmas is celebrated in almost every part of the world.
The day is deemed a special one on the Christian calendar which signifies the birth of Jesus Christ.
Merrymaking coupled with other activities is accompanied by this season.
On Christmas Eve, one can spot an outdoor parade, led by local musicians, in many of Ghana’s bigger cities. And church services, where children present a nativity play or other festive drama, are also a big part of how Ghanaians celebrate this holiday.
As we begin the celebrations, residents of Sekondi-Takoradi have expressed enthusiasm about how they intend to commemorate the day despite economic challenges.
Speaking to Beach Newsroom, some say, they will be attending conventions and other church activities.
Others said they are preparing for the masquerading parades where various masquerade groups show off their dancing skills amongst other activities characterized by Christmas.
